Captain Scrabble, the patron saint of writers, wanted to spread the word of lexical invention. His technique of casting runes onto a chequered board helped him to whisper fictional place-names into the computers and typewriters of sleepy authors.  His teachings have become somewhat secular over the years, but if you hang little stockings on your ears you may be given a wonderful name for your post-apocalyptic village.
